Meet Colorado’s 12th Judicial District’s Elected District Attorney

With over two decades of legal experience, Kelly has served in various judicial districts across Colorado, including the 18th, 19th, and 20th. Prior to her appointment, she was a senior deputy district attorney in Boulder County, where she notably founded the nationally recognized Domestic Violence Acute Response Team. This initiative aimed to provide immediate support to domestic violence victims while building trust within the community. Since taking office, Kelly has focused on restoring public trust in the criminal justice system. She emphasizes transparency, community collaboration, and a balanced approach to justice, ensuring that all victims are treated with dignity and respect. Kelly earned her law degree from Fordham University in New York City in 2003.  She has lived in Colorado since 2007 and is a proud resident of the City of Alamosa.
